ANIMAL PALEOPATHOLOGY IN PREHISTORIC SETTLEMENTS: ARCHAEOZOOLOGICAL DATA CONCERNING THE CUCUTENI B SITES OF PODURI-DEALUL

This paper examines the frequency, causality and types of some pathological aspects shown on the osteological remains identified in prehistoric sites belonging to Cucuteni Culture, phase B, of Poduri-Dealul Ghindaru (Bacau County) and Fetesti-La Schit (Suceava County). The paleopathological aspects are described mainly in domestic mammals as cattle (Bos taurus), sheep/goat (Ovis aries/Capra hircus), pig (Sus scrofa domesticus), dog (Canis familiaris), as well as in wild mammals as fox (Vulpes vulpes), wild boar (Sus scrofa ferus) and roe-deer (Capreolus capreolus).
