1P-517 : Effect of Platinum Loading on the Catalytic Activity of Pt/MnO2 for total Oxidation of Toluene

2019
A toluene is known as one of representative volatile organic compounds (VOCs) pollutants, since it cause serious damages on human health as well as environment problems such as generation of fine dust. In this study, effect on Pt loading on the catalytic performance of Pt/MnOx for toluene oxidation was investigated. The gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) was 17292h-1. Pt/MnOx was prepared by impregnation of MnO2. The synthesized MnO2 and Pt/MnOx catalysts were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The toluene was completely oxidized to carbon dioxide at around 140°C. MnOx supports with high surface area results in low-temperature toluene oxidation of Pt/MnOx catalysts.
