Analgesic Effect of Interferon-alpha in Mice of Spared Nerve Injury

2007
Objective: To investigate the analgesic effect of interferon-alpha(IFN-α) in spared nerve injury(SNI) mice. Methods: After IFNα 2a was intraperitoneally injected into mice at different doses,Von Frey Filaments test and cold plate test were carried on the mice to analyze the analgesic effects of IFN-α 2a and the antagonize effect of naloxone to analgesic effects by IFN-α 2a,respectively.Results: When IFN-α 2a was injected at a dosage of 1 000 U/g,IFN-α 2a had no analgesia effects;at 5 000 U/g,there was significant analgesia effect that began at 30 min after administration and could only last 5-20 min. When the dosage increased to 10 000 U/g,the analgesia effect could last 50-60 min.Meanwhile the effect can be significantly blocked by naloxone. Conclusion: ① IFN-α 2a had an analgesia effect in the SNI model, and this effect was dose-dependent.② IFN-α 2a induced analgesic effect is mediated by opiate receptor.
