Methods The JCI-based international goals of patients' security was applied to nursing management of neurosurgical wards in 2015, which included accurately identifying patients, promoting effective communications between medical staffs, ensuring correct surgical site, correct operation and right patients, promoting high-risk drug management, reducing the risk of nosocomial infection and reducing the risk of patients falling down or dropping of bed. Results The nursing safety indicators was obviously enhanced in 2015 after the enforcement of JCI, which were higher than that in 2013 before the enforcement of JCI (P<0.05). The rates of nosocomial infection in 2015 was significantly reduced, and was lower than that in 2013(P<0.05). The satisfaction degree of patients(94%)in 2015 was higher than that in 2013(74.67%), and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).
