Pipelining collaborative test for improving student performance in introductory programming courses

This study presents an innovative pipelining two-stage exam format, PipE 2 , to improve the first year students’ performance. Experiment results show that the impact on student performance during PipE 2 was influenced by the difficulty of questions. More exposure to the topics before group discussion could improve the benefits and efficiency of PipE 2 .
