ON THE COMBINED BENDING/TORSION BEHAVIOUR OF FLEXIBLE RISERS

In this paper, an investigation is performed on the behaviour of short length flexible risers, which is governed by the bending and torsional properties of the line. Experimental tests are performed using an elastic cable and an actual flexible pipe in order to check the influence of the bending friction. The results are used to validate a numerical solution.
