Group Based Vehicular Machine to Machine Communication Scheme in Cellular Networks

M2M communication is expected to be one of major communication methods in the future. In M2M communications, there are important requirements: extremely low power consumption of devices and mass device transmission. Vehicular M2M communication is one of main applications of M2M. In this paper, an efficient group based vehicular Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication scheme in cellular networks is proposed. By exploiting a unique environment of users in a vehicle, a novel group based communication is designed. By using the proposed scheme, cellular networks is able to support mass M2M users while providing low power consumption with group communication.
