The Effects of Application Phloroglucinol on the Active Phase of Delivery with Cervix Edema

Objective To study the effects of applying phloroglucinol on the active phase of delivery with cervix edema.Methods Chose 90 cases of primipara with termed pregnancy,cephalic presentations,no complication of pregnancy or abnormal fetal positions,cervix opened 3-4cm in the active phase,accompanied with cervix edema,stiffness and cervical dilatation,and randomly divided into observing group and contrast group with 45 cases each.For the observing group,served with 40mg phloroglucinol cervical injection and 40mg intravenous injection;for the contrast group,served with 10mg diazepam intravenous injection,observed the delivery process and effects on the pregnant and infant.Results The time from receiving the medicine to the cervix opened fully,compared the cervical dilatation applied medicine 4 hours and cervix edema,the difference between the two groups was of statistic significance(P0.01);while the difference in the amount of postpartum hemorrhage,delivery methods and Apgar grading of newborn was of no statistic significance(P0.05).Conclusion Phloroglucinol can significantly speed up the cervical dilatation and shorten delivery course,and it has no bad effect on the pregnant and infant.
