Radiographic Findings of Body Packer Double Condom Sign

”Body packer” or ”mules” is one of the methods of international smuggling of drugs. The drug-filled packets can be either ingested, or found indwelling to rectosigmoid colon or vagina. Three fourth decade males, suspected of smugglers, were sent to Emergency Department by customs officials at CKS International Airport. Radiographs of the abdomen revealed multiple oblong-shaped foreign bodies in the stomach, small bowel, colon and rectum. Double condom sign from indwelling of the drug-filled packets in the rectosigmoid colon was found in all three cases. To present knowledge, this is the first report in Taiwan dealing with the radiographic findings of drug smugglers.
