RISCO CARDIOVASCULAR EM PACIENTES EM TRATAMENTO HEMODIALÍTICO: PARÂMETROS ANTROPOMÉTRICOS E RAZÃO TRIGLICERÍDEO/HDL-COLESTEROL / CARDIOVASCULAR RISK IN PATIENTS UNDERGOING HEMODIALYSIS: ANTHROPOMETRIC PARAMETERS AND TRIGLYCERIDE/HDL-CHOLESTEROL RATIO

Introducao : As complicacoes cardiovasculares sao as principais causas de obitos em pacientes hemodialiticos. A utilizacao de indices que apresentem alta sensibilidade na deteccao de riscos, baixo custo e facil reprodutibilidade e essencial para a identificacao precoce de risco cardiovascular nesta populacao. Objetivo : Avaliar o risco cardiovascular por meio de parâmetros antropometricos e da razao triglicerideo/HDL-Colesterol (TG/HDL-C) em pacientes em tratamento hemodialitico. Metodos : Estudo transversal, realizado com 70 pacientes submetidos a hemodialise. Foi analisado o risco cardiovascular desses pacientes atraves de indicadores antropometricos, como Circunferencia da Cintura (CC), Relacao Cintura-Quadril (RCQ), Relacao Cintura-Altura (RCA) e Indice de Massa Corporal (IMC), e de indicadores bioquimicos, como Triglicerideos (TG), Lipoproteina de alta densidade (HDLc) e a Razao TG/HDL. Resultados : Dos 70 pacientes avaliados, 54,2% eram homens e a idade media foi de 45 ± 16.04 anos. Observou-se alto risco cardiovascular em 51,4% pela CC, e em 75,7% e 70,0% pela RCQ e RCEst, respectivamente. Houve alta prevalencia de hipertrigliceridemia (57,1%) e baixo HDLc (74,2%). Mais da metade dos pacientes (68,5%) apresentou razao TG/HDLc acima do desejavel. Entre os indices antropometricos, somente a Circunferencia da Cintura apresentou associacao significante com a razao TG/HDLc. Conclusao : Os resultados ratificaram que os indicadores antropometricos, assim como a razao TG/HDL sao importantes parâmetros de avaliacao para o risco cardiovascular nesses pacientes, alem de ser pratico, acessivel e de baixo custo. Abstract Introduction : Cardiovascular complications are the leading cause of death in hemodialysis patients. The use of indexes that have high-risk detection sensitivity, low cost and easy reproducibility is essential for early identification of patients with cardiovascular risk in this population. Objective : To assess the cardiovascular risk of patients undergoing hemodialysis through anthropometric parameters and triglyceride/HDL-cholesterol (TG/HDL-C) ratio. Methods : The study was cross-sectional, involving 70 patients undergoing hemodialysis. The cardiovascular risk of these patients was analyzed using anthropometric indicators, such as waist circumference (WC), waist-hip ratio (WHR), waist-stature ratio (WHtR) and Body Mass Index (BMI), and biochemical indicators, such as triglycerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C) and TG/HDL ratio. Results : Of 70 patients, 54.28% were male and the average age was of 45 ± 16:04 years old. High cardiovascular risk was observed by WC (51.43%), WHR and WHtR (75.71% and 70%), respectively. There was high hypertriglyceridemia (57.14%) and low HDL-C (74.28%) prevalence. Over half of the patients (68.57%) had a higher TG/HDL-C ratio than desirable. Among anthropometric indexes, only WC was significantly associated with the TG/HDLc ratio. Conclusion : The results confirm that WC, WHR and WHtR anthropometric indicators and TG/HDL ratio can and should be used as a tool to evaluate cardiovascular risk in these patients, as they are practical, affordable and have low costs.
