PI-Specific Phospholipase C and Lipase Activity in Ischemic Rat Brain

A plasma membrane and an organelle are composed of almost identical substances, including phospholipid. The turnover of acyl groups of phospholipids in normal brain biomembrane is well known. Some types of enzymic system related to this turnover have been investigated. Phospholipase Al, A2, PI-specific phospholipase C, lipase, lysophospholipase, acylCoA ligase, and acylCoA: lysophospholipid acyltransferase are some of these enzymic systems.
