The invention relates to the field of medicines, in particular to application of resveratrol in preparing a medicament for preventing and treating respiratory syncytial virus infections, wherein the resveratrol can obviously reduce the infection titer of a respiratory syncytial virus and IL-6 secretion induced by the respiratory syncytial virus in vitro; and the resveratrol can obviously reduce the titer of the respiratory syncytial virus in lung tissues of a mouse with the respiratory syncytial virus infection in vivo and has a better therapeutic action on airway inflammations and airway high reaction induced by the respiratory syncytial virus.
