Frequency and Bandwidth Effects in Pol-InSAR Forest Height Estimation
2008
This presentation addresses the potential and limitations of Pol-InSAR inversion techniques for quantitative forest parameter estimation in tropical forests. By making use of the unique data set acquired in the frame of INDREX-II campaign - including Pol-/InSAR, Lidar and ground measurements - over typical Southeast Asia forest formations. The performance of Pol-InSAR inversion is assessed at L- and P-band. Temporal decorrelation in short time repeat-pass interferometry is discussed and quantitatively assessed. First steps of an inversion performance for spaceborn scenarios by means of simulated data are discussed.
