Optical Active Molecules usedasMolecular Contrast Agents forEnhanced Imaging

2008
Anovel technique aimed atincreasing theimage contrast ofastructure surrounded byascattering medium, using optically active molecules asmolecular contrast agents, ispresented. Specifically, enhanced target detection wasobtained bydoping the surrounding mediumwithmolecular contrast agents, consisting of aqueous glucose molecules, inconjunction toadvancedpolarimetric imaging techniques. Theoutcome ofthis study opens newhorizons intheareasofmolecular imaging, early disease detection and cancer identification.
