Hierarchical Quantitative Assessment Method of Network Security Threat Situation

In order to evaluate the security status of network system accurately and efficiently, this paper proposes a hierarchical quantitative evaluation method of network security threat situation based on Hidden Markov model (HMM). This paper first quantifies the security situation by combining the types of network threats and service vulnerability information, and then extends to the whole network according to the hierarchical strategy. The simulation results based on IWPCC2015 data set show that this method can complete the network security situation awareness and evaluation. The experimental results provide a certain reference for the research of hierarchical network security threat situation quantitative assessment method.
