CONCLUSIONS: Nearly overlooked as the first to describe bladder exstrophy, Johannes Schenck von Grafenberg achieved notoriety in his day for his extensive writings on medical conditions. His astute observations on brain injuries made him an early pioneer in the field of neurolinguistics.
