Establishment of the 2010 Vertical Datum for Ecuador

In Ecuador there are two types of official cartography: land mapping and nautical charting developed by the Military Geographic Institute and the Oceanographic Institute of the Navy respectively. This paper aims to describe the methodology established to obtain a vertical datum from the sea level variation records at the Principal Station “La Liber-tad” (02o13’04”S, 80°54’23”W).
