Performance Characterization of a Microstrip Patch Antenna on Multiple Substrate
2020
The paper deals with the design, analysis, and characterization of a rectangular microstrip patch antenna on different substrate for various parameters like S11, bandwidth, gain, and directivity. The various substrate used for designing the antenna are FR4 epoxy, RT/Duroid 5880, Taconic RF-60, teflon, polyimide with an operating frequency of 2.9 GHz (± 3%). The dimension of the radiating patch area is kept same, while the height is varied with the substrate. Analysis of the study helps with the selection of a particular substrate (considering parameters like gain, bandwidth, directivity, return loss) for the corresponding frequency range in order to meet necessary wireless applications requirements.
