Abstract A novel, regiocontrolled synthesis of the ergosterol B-isomers, ( 1 ), ( 2 ) and ( 3 ) is described, the success of which was realized via the highly regioselective formation of intermediate trienoltriflates, ( 7 ), ( 8 ) and ( 9 ).
