Disclosed is a reinforcing method for reinforced concrete columns, with elliptic section replaced with rectangular sections, coated with sticky steel. The reinforcing method includes manufacturing a steel sleeve with elliptic section, which is a smallest externally-connected ellipse as compared with the rectangular section of an original reinforced concrete column to be reinforced, dividing the manufactured steel sleeve in a left half steel sleeve and a right half steel sleeve symmetrically, cleaning the original reinforced concrete column, the left half steel sleeve and the right half steel sleeve, coating interfacial adhesive, welding the left half steel sleeve and the right half steel sleeve, taking the original reinforced concrete column as a central axis, in a positioned manner to form a complete sleeve steel, pouring fine stone concrete between the original reinforced concrete column and the steel sleeve, and maintaining for the predetermined time. The reinforcing method has the advantages that the section increase is low, bearing capacity increase is high, cost is low, and the pressure resistance strength, deformation resistance capacity and reliability are high.
