Detecting an over-temperature in an exhaust system

2015
It is a method for determining an over-temperature condition provided in an exhaust treatment system. The method compares a current soot in a particulate filter with a Schwellenrusbeladung. The method compares each of a plurality of temperatures detected by a plurality of temperature sensors with a threshold temperature. Based on the determination that the current exceeds soot loading in a particulate filter of the exhaust gas treatment system a Schwellenrusbeladung and that one of the plurality of temperature exceeds the threshold temperature, the method determines that the exhaust gas treatment system is in an over-temperature condition. Based on the determination that the current does not exceed soot in the particulate filter, the Schwellenrusbeladung and that two or more of the plurality of temperatures exceeding the threshold temperature, the method determines that the exhaust gas treatment system is in an over-temperature condition.
