On Simplification of Indicator System for Evaluating Water Environment Carrying Capacity Based on Grey Correlation Analysis

There are too many indicators in the current evaluation system for evaluating the water environment carrying capacity(WECC),and it is difficult to gather and process the raw data,and the evaluation process is too cockamamie.Therefore,this paper is expected to get a simplified indicator system for evaluating the WECC.The experiment is constructed on the indicator system of WECC by using its building ways,using improved analytical hierarchical process(AHP)and"Mode plus sum"method to compute WECC,employing grey correlation analysis method to calculate the correlation between each indicator in indicator system and to get the simplified indicator system.Finally,the simplified indicator system is applied to evaluate the WECC of Liaoning Province to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method in this paper.The evaluation results in Liaoning′s WECC calculated by the current indicator system and the simplified one,respectively,show that the general tendencies of the two evaluation results by the two indicator systems are consistent,and the difference between the former value and the latter one of each sub-carrying capacity is relatively tiny.It proves that the simplified indicator system applying grey correlation analysis is available and the simplified method is feasible.An available simplified indicator system for evaluating WECC can be obtained by using gray correlation analysis method proposed in this paper.
