THE LATEST VACUUM PHOTODETECTOR

1997
Abstract In applications such as radiation measurements and medical instrumentation, the development of more compact and portable equipment has continually progressed. This has led to a strong demand for small photodetectors. Additionally, in the recent experiments for high energy physics (HEP), luminosity and energy of beams have been increased to achieve precise measurements. These have led to a demand for photodetectors which can be operated in a high magnetic field. Hamamatsu is continuously developing new types of detectors to keep up with those trends. The performance and the prime features of the latest vacuum photodetectors are discussed.
