Avaliação da Atividade Antiulcerogênica da Baccharis trimera (LESS) DC. em Ratos

2012
Current research evaluates the antiulcer activity of Baccharis trimera (Less) DC. in Wistar male rats and contributes towards more advanced work on antiulcer medicinal plants. Different experimental protocols were undertaken for ulcer induction by cold stress and ethanol 90%. Animals received Baccharis trimera (Less) DC. extract gavage at concentrations 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg. In induction by stress, Wistar rats weighing 220-280 g were placed in a freezer at -18oC for 45 minutes, whereas in induction by ethanol the animals received 1 ml of an ulcerative agent. In the case of induction by stress, ranitidine 0.1g/kg (positive control) reduced ulcer in 64.84% and treated groups featured ulcer reduction of 71.34% (100mg/kg), 79.67% (200mg/kg) and 83.34% (400mg/kg). Positive control (lansoprazole) in the case of induction by ethanol 90% reduced 32.5% of ulceration, whereas Baccharis trimera (Less) DC. extract reduced 35% (100mg/kg), 28.35% (200mg/kg) and 39.2% (400mg/kg) of total area of ulcerous lesion. Results show that Baccharis trimera (Less) DC. extract is an antiulcerogenic agent when used in animals treated with ethanol 90% and in animals under cold stress.
