Correlation of thermophysical properties of halogenated refrigerants

1991
Abstract Lee, M.J. and Chao, Y.L., 1991. Correlation of thermophysical properties of halogenated refrigerants. Fluid Phase Equilibria , 67: 111-125. Two versions of four notable cubic equations of state were examined using the literature data of 20 halogenated refrigerants. The properties including vapor pressure, molar volume, enthalpy, entropy and the heat of vaporization are discussed. The comparisons appear to show that the Lu equation of state is the best among the corresponding-states models and the Patel-Teja equation of state is the best among the models with at least one adjusted parameter. Moreover, a two-reference-fluid corresponding-states model with a generalized energy correction parameter was developed to predict the viscosity of such saturated liquids. We also found that the Latini et al. model reproduces the thermal conductivity well and the Brock and Bird model is applicable to the estimation of the surface tension.
