SECONDARY FLOWS A LOSSES – POSSIBILITIES FOR REDUCTION AND SOME EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS

The paper deals with possibilities for reduction of secondary flows and losses in turbine stages. The development of the idea of flow through the blade passage is shortly described in the first part of the paper. Literature study of several methods proposed for secondary flow losses reduction is given in the following part. The third part introduces some of our own experimental results. It means an experimental study of the influence of 3D blade shaping on the flow and losses in a turbine stage.
