Panorama histórico da Teoria Celular

Resumo Este artigo apresenta uma breve exposicao dos episodios historicos envolvidos na construcao da Teoria Celular, com base em fontes secundarias e apoio de fontes primarias, na tentativa de contribuir para o enfrentamento da ideia de haver um conhecimento cientifico verdadeiro e definitivo, tal como apresentado em muitos livros didaticos de Biologia , sob a forma de enunciados dogmaticos dessa teoria. O objetivo principal dessa reconstrucao historica e responder a pergunta: O que ocorreu durante os quase 200 anos transcorridos desde a primeira observacao da celula, atribuida a Robert Hooke, no seculo XVII , ate a publicacao da Teoria Celular por Schwann, em 1839? E possivel constatar, ao longo desse resgate, o processo coletivo e historico de construcao do conhecimento, o contexto filosofico da epoca, a provisoriedade/dinamicidade da ciencia, controversias e metodos utilizados pelos cientistas. Os estudos decorrentes dessa teoria tambem sao abordados. Constatamos que o embasamento teorico adquirido por meio de estudos sobre a Historia da Ciencia pode contribuir para o enriquecimento da educacao em Biologia . Abstract This article presents a brief summary of historical episodes involved in the construction of the Cell theory, based on secondary sources and on the support of primary sources, in an attempt to query the concept of the existence of a real and definitive scientific knowledge, as shown in many biology textbooks, in which dogmatic statements of this theory are presented. The main objective of this historical summary is to answer to the question: What happened during the nearly 200 years since the first observation of the cell, attributed to Robert Hooke in the seventeenth century, until the publication of the Cell Theory by Schwann in 1839? Throughout this rescue it can be seen the collective and historical process of construction of knowledge, the philosophical context of the time, the temporality / dynamics of science, disputes and methods used by scientists. The studies under this theory are also covered. We note that the theoretical foundation acquired through studies on the History of Science can contribute to the improvement of education in Biology .
