The present invention relates to an electrolyte additive for secondary batteries, and to an electrolyte for secondary batteries including the same. The electrolyte additive for secondary batteries is capable of improving output performance of batteries by lowering interfacial resistance in the batteries when the batteries are discharged, and also secures stable battery charging/discharging capacity even at a high temperature. Accordingly, the electrolyte additive achieves favorable current amount required in takeoff with sudden acceleration, while reducing duration for charging when the electrolyte additive is used in the batteries for electronic vehicles.
