Integrated Pre-Evaluation Method of Highway Safety Based on Continental Distance Model with Varying Weight

2013
Pre-evaluation of highway safety is an effective method to ensure safe operation of the highway transportation industry. In view of the various factors influencing highway traffic safety, the continental distance model with varying weight is proposed for highway traffic safety appraisal in this paper. This novel method adopts safe contribution rate of evaluation indexes related to highway safety to determine the weight coefficients of the corresponding indicators. In addition, evaluation factors' grade standards of highway safety are treated properly. Last, this model is applied to safe pre-evaluation of Xinjiang high-grade highway, and this model and unascertained measure model are compared and analyzed. The study results show that both models evaluation results are excellently consistent, so this method is feasible.
