Environmental Change — Problems and Options
1991
Environmental change is a global process which would also take place in the absence of man. What causes concern today is the pace of the change and the relationship between the presence of man and his deleterious impacts on the environment: e.g. change of climate, pollution of water, soil and air, over-exploitation of forests, and the extinction of animal and plant species. The concerns over these environmental changes are now shared by scientists, politicians and citizens and have set the agenda for meetings at all levels, nationally and internationally, to an extent which has never occurred before.
