Analysis of genetic diversity of two wild banana populations in Fuzhou and Sanming by RAPD technology

2008
The randomly amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD) technology was applied to assess the genetic diversity and structure of 2 populations of the wild banana in Fuzhou and Sanming,Fujian Province. The percentages of polymorphic loci(PPB) of 2 populations of the wild banana in Fuzhou and Sanming were 71.97% and 83.12%,while the Shannon information indexes(I) were 0.5995 and 0.4003,and the Nei′s gene diversities(He) were 0.4110 and 0.2399,respectively.The genetic diversities of the 2 populations of wild banana were at relatively high level, and the genetic differentiation mainly occurred within the population. The UPGMA cluster analysis showed that the 37 individuals of the wild banana were clustered into 7 clusters corresponding to the 2 populations except for a few individuals.
