Preparation of Amorphous Molybdenum Oxide Thin Film in Improved Peroxo-polymolybdic Acid Method

2004
The solution of peroxo-polymolybdic acid was formed through the reaction of metallic molybdenum with hydrogen peroxide. The solvent water and excess hydrogen peroxide were removed in vacuum distillation process, then the acid was dissolved in absolute alcohol. A smooth amorphous molybdenum oxide thin film was prepared on glass in the dip-coating method. The mechanism of the preparation was investigated through thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction analysis.
