Applying Extending Hierarchical Task Analysis to Accessibility Assessment Methodology of Home Appliance

2016
Nowadays, In both overseas and domestic areas, With an increasing number of handicapped people, gaps arises between handicapped users and normal users. However, Estimation and Analysis of accessibility of home appliances are in insignificant steps, and existing guideline and research with standard that is consisted of checklist are just subjective and qualitative. The precedent research that applied 'HTA(Hierarchical Task Analysis)' solution which is known as one of ways of 'Task Analysis' also has a few points that have to change. In this paper, by expanding a methodology of handicapped accessibility evaluation that is based on precedent 'HTA' , We offer a more analytical evaluating methodology. That expanded 'HTA' is compromised to show a physical pattern of various users. Expanded 'HTA' uses a offered Task behavior and product's interface that follows with Task behavior. With expanded HTA, We can detect the accessibility condition of product and can get a quantifiable result. And that can derive a accessibility evaluation and evaluating barometer. In the future, we look forward to Using offered methodology in this research conducts accessibility evaluation that considers a various user members and quantifiable derives interface's components that needs to be solved and changed.
