Method for preventing shrinkage porosity and shrinkage cavity of cast iron grinding balls

2014
The invention discloses a method for preventing shrinkage porosity and shrinkage cavity of cast iron grinding balls. The method comprises the following steps: (1) the principle of actual components most approaching a eutectic point is followed in the component design; and components are selected ones near the eutectic point under the precondition of not influencing the performance and production process performance; (2) under the precondition of excellent mold filling, the casting temperature is reduced to the greatest extent; and a quick and smooth filling casting process is adopted; and (3) the weight of a mold is increased; and the amplification is 20-30% of the weight of an existing mold. The method prevents the possibility of shrinkage porosity and shrinkage cavity of the cast iron grinding balls to a greater extent through reasonably designing the component formula of the cast iron grinding balls, effectively controlling the casting temperature and time length and controlling the temperature of the mold, so that the strength, hardness, roughness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the cast iron grinding balls are further improved, and the service life of the cast iron grinding balls is largely prolonged.
