Synthesis and antituberculous activity of 9-aminoacridine azomethines

2008
Condensation of 9-aminoacridine with p-substituted aromatic aldehydes led to the synthesis of the corresponding azomethines at yields of 60-78%. 9-Aminoacridine azomethines were found to have in vitro antituberculous activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H 37 R v at a concentration of 6.25 μg/ml.
