The existence of a notable gap regarding the influence of Catholic Christian-based religiosity in the territory of Las Tunas is the reason that induces its treatment in this article. From a theoretical point of view, it is based on updated criteria on the subject. It is emphasized in some manifestations that reveal the psychosocial representations of the inhabitants of a region, mainly rural, through which the notoriety of one of the elements of the symbolic universe little recognized in the sociocultural studies in the local context is evident. The bibliographic search especially of the local press and the interpretation based on the testimonies is revealing of the diversification of the complex of identities related to popular religiosity.
