Some Views on the Histoorical Play The Dismissal of Hai Jui

The publication of Comrade Yao Wen-yuan's article "On the New Historical Play The Dismissal of Hai Jui" (on page 2 of this newspaper on November 10) has attracted wide attention from all sides. Some units in the history, literature and art, publishing, and educational circles have already held several discussions on this subject; similar discussions are under way in other units. Many different views — either pro, con, or doubting — have been expressed. Quite a few comrades have written us, informing us of various viewpoints and problems brought forth in the discussions, and asking that they be further deliberated in this paper. We heartily welcome this suggestion.
