CT Diagnosis of Hemifacial Microsomia in Children(Report of 3 Cases and Literature Review)

Objective To evaluate the role of CT in diagnosis of hemifacial microsomia in Children.Materials and Methods Three cases with asymmetric anomalies of external ear,oral and face were examined by 64SCT and reconstructed by multi-plain reconstruction and volume rendering.Results All the three cases presented unilateral hypoplasia of mandible,temporal bones,malar bones,masticatory muscles,facial muscles and ear.They were diagnosed as hemifacial microsomia by CT.Conclusion CT could provide detailed and objective data for clinical diagnosis,classification,treatment and prognostic evaluation.
