Application of the favites implants for genioplasty

Objective This study was carried out to explore the applications of the coral implant for genioplasty. Methods The Hainan Favites implant, as a bone graft substitute was inlaid to the fragments after horizontal osteotomy on 16 patients suffering from microgenia. The clinical results were analysed with different methods. Results The experimental study and clinical results showed that the coral implant has an excellent biocompatibility with good creeping substitution of the implant by host bone. All the patients are satisfied with the operative results. Conclusion Favites implant inlay after horizontal osteotomy is one of the ideal methods for microgenia.
