Probing the Structure and Crystallinity of a Lithium Silicate Glass by $^{29}Si$ Magic-Angle-Spinning NMR Spectroscopy

1985
It is now well established that high-resolution magic-angle-spinning NMR spectroscopy (MASNMR) can monitor the nature of short-range order in both non-crystalline and crystalline solids[1,2]. $^{29}Si$ -MASNMR studies of silicates have shown that the $^{29}Si$ chemical shift is related to the Si-0-Si angles and to interatomic distances[3].
