A method for producing cigarette raw materials comprises: a step A1 for heating cigarette raw materials in a closed space, the cigarette raw materials having been treated with alkali, and extracting out of the closed space flavor components emitted in a gas phase from the cigarette raw materials; a step B1 for bringing the flavor components emitted in a gas phase in step A1 into contact with a first solvent, which is a liquid substance at room temperature, outside of the closed space, thereby trapping the flavor components in the first solvent; and a step C1 for adding the first solvent in which the flavor components were trapped in step B1 to the cigarette raw materials within the closed space.
