Evaluation of the electromagnetic effects on a tokamak first wall caused by a plasma disruption using a thin shell formulation

The electromagnetic aspects of the adopted numerical model are described and the computed distributions in space and time of the eddy currents and body forces on the Next European Tours first wall are analysed in the case of a plasma disruption simulated by a current quench without any plasma movement. Then, transient mechanical analyses of the investigated structure are presented and the main results in terms of stresses, deformations and reaction forces are illustrated
