The invention discloses a target tracking method based on block sparse expression and HSV feature fusion. A fusion tracking algorithm based on block sparse expression and an HSV histogram not only maintains the robustness of the block sparse expression for illumination change and shading, but also improves the resolution for object colors, is not liable to be interfere with similar colors, and facilitates the robust tracking of an algorithm attitude change object. Meanwhile, shading judgment processing can reduce the impact on the algorithm from severe shading, and strategy updating can guarantee the adaption to a complex background and a target with changing shapes in a tracking process, thereby improving the reliability of the tracking algorithm. According to the invention, the division number of a target block is reduced, and the method has quicker efficiency than a common sparse tracking algorithm.
