Distribution and consistency of the nesting Green Woodpecker population, Picus viridis, in the Province of Mantua in the period 2000-2017 (Lombardy, Northern Italy). Here is analized and described the distribution and consistency of Green Woodpecker, Picus viridis, which was nesting in the Province of Mantua in the period 2000-2017. The research has underlined an evident territorial expansion and a higher number of occupied sites compared to the previous decades. In the period 1983-1987 the species was for sure present only in 3 sites and moreover there is also an increased numerical consistency. In the period 2000-2010, the species was present in 44 sites with a percentage increase of 1,36%, while in the period 2011-2017 its presence was in 74 sites and therefore the percentage was in 74 sites and therefore the percentage increase was 68,19%, referred to the studies of 2000-2010
