Slagging and deposit formation in the gas path of a boiler

The main relationships governing deposit formation in furnaces and the gas path of boilers, when burning coals whose ash has different compositions and properties, are presented. Recommendations for assessing the danger of slagging and for ensuring slag-free operation are given.
