The Influence of Labor Out-migration on Rural Household's Livelihood Capital in Rural Mountain Area of Western China

This paper analyzes the influence of labor out-migration on the rural households'livelihood capitals by employing the data obtained from a household survey in China's Zhouzhi mountain area carried out in 2008.It is found that there are significant differences in the amounts of livelihood capitals according to whether the household has family member who migrated out.The degree of the influence of migration varies among the different types of capitals.The characteristics of migration also exert different influences on the different types of rural household's livelihood capitals.
