Jovens na iniciação científica: experiências de gênero e emoções

This work privileges the experiences of gender and emotions of High School students of the Scientific Vocation Program from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. We investigated whether and how emotions are related to gender stereotypes. Semi-structured interviews were conducted in 2006 with eight girls and seven boys about their expectations, practices and academic or professional choices. We have identified in the reports that more girls than boys choose Medicine as a future career and girls are resentful of the restriction from parents in their pursuits outside their homes.
