Nanoparticle Toxicity in Water, Soil, Microbes, Plant and Animals

2016
Nanotechnology is defined as the design, synthesis and application of materials, devices whose size and shape have been engineered at the nanoscale. The building blocks of nanotechnology are nanoparticles. Nanoparticles are broadly classified as natural nanoparticles and anthropogenic nanoparticles. This chapter presents first the definitions, principles and applications of nanomaterials. Then the toxicity of nanomaterials on soil, water, food, microbes, plants and animals is detailed.
