PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus whose operation method is switched according to the condition of a user, a method of controlling the electronic apparatus, and a computer program. SOLUTION: An operation recognition module 3 recognizes an operation performed by the user and determines the continuity of the operation based on information input from either an input module 1 or an information collection module 2. A state recognition module 4 recognizes the behavior state of the user based on the information collected by the information collection module 2. A rule control module 5 controls the operation recognized by the operation recognition module 3 and the timing of application of operation rules corresponding to the behavior state of the user recognized by the state recognition module 4, based on the continuity of the operation determined by the operation recognition module 3.
