К вопросу о признаках речевой манипуляции и средствах ее выражения

The concept of “manipulation” is defined in the article; a description of the main characteristic features of verbal manipulation, such as the implicit nature of influence, the intention of the speaker to gain one-sided win, the use of manipulated person for achievement of own aims, inconscient addressant behavior and acting on weak spots of the partner. The means of manipulation realization are viewed in the process of the speakers’ interpersonal impact on phonetic, lexical and grammatical levels. On the phonetic level, the main means are: intonation, timbre, allocation of voice, pauses, alliteration, rhyming, rhythimization; on the lexical level neologisms, metonymy, paraphrasing and detailing, evocative lexis, deictic units, euphemisms, dysphemisms, casuistical units, barbarisms and such methods as nominalizing transformation, false analogy, the substitution of an actor; on the grammatical level the replacement of Active Voice to Passive Voice, ellipsis, inversion, picking out a certain type of the sentence and others. Based on the German cinematograph of the 21st century, the analysis of the dialogues where manipulative acts are used have been conducted. Such acts play the role of the means to achieve the speaker’s aims, besides these acts are put to change the addressee’s communication style in favor of the addressant: giving the necessary information, a definite commission and so on.
